Miguel McInnis, MPH
Consultant, Healthcare Executive, and Public Health Strategist in Washington, DC
As a passionate, public health innovator committed to insuring health care access for the most vulnerable in our society, I began my career working for Fortune 500 companies, Deloitte Consulting and Ernst and Young LLP, on public and private sector hospital finance and strategy projects for clients such as Bank of America, Pacific Mutual Insurance Co., Duke University Medical Center and Partners Healthcare. In 2001, I decided to pursue my calling to help build health centers in blighted underserved communities. As the CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers, a federally funded Primary Care Association of federally qualified health center clinic sites, I worked to enlarge the network of 39 clinic sites to 136 sites with combined operating revenues of $250 million and providing health services to over 300,000 residents in Maryland and Delaware. As a result of outstanding public health leadership, I was awarded the Norton-Wilson Award by the National Association of Community Health Centers. I have served on countless federal and state commissions addressing the needs of underserved populations and worked with the Bush and Obama Administrations on Underserved and Faith Based Healthcare Initiatives. Most recently, I have published several articles in Forbes on population health and engagement strategies for high risk communities.
