Born and raised in Grosse Ile Michigan a small island suburb located in the downriver Metro-Detroit area. Megan was a highly competitive athlete in high school, she was on the varsity soccer team, as well as a competitive cheerleader, and did gymnastics. Her competitive nature and love of sports led her to Eastern Michigan University in 2005 to study Marketing with a concentration in sports. In 2009 Megan left EMU and followed the patriotic beat of her heart and joined the United States Navy.
While in the Navy Megan was an Honor Graduate of her class and was promoted to Petty Officer 3rd Class. Rewarded not only in rank Megan received orders to be stationed in Pearl Harbor Hawaii, serving on DDG90 USS Chafee. In 2010 she went on a Westpac deployment in the South China Sea and earned the National Defense Medal, Navy Battle” E” Ribbon, multiple Global War on Terrorism Service Medals, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Expert Pistol Shot Medal. Megan returned from deployment and married her spouse Jacob, and a year later welcomed a baby girl named Kennedy.
Megan returned to Eastern Michigan University for the fall 2012 semester, she graduated in the spring of 2014 with her B.B.A in Marketing. With her Degree she pursued her dream of working for the Detroit Red Wings. Megan also has plans to further her education and obtain a Master’s Degree in either Statistics, Economics, or Anthropology and is currently researching potential graduate schools.
