researcher in Lahore, Pakistan
I am an anthropologist in-training who has a strong passion for academia. I hold a joint Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Sociology from Lahore University of Management Sciences (Lahore, Pakistan) and I am planning to specialize in gender and sexuality studies and religion studies (or something along the lines).
I like studying world cultures, art history, mythology, philosophy and I take a keen interest in gender, queer and feminist theory. I associate myself with progressive activist streams in Pakistan and I often write about issues pertaining to cultural politics for local or international blogs and magazines. You can check out some of my published works here and on my blog.
I have worked with Labor Education Foundation, Shirkat Gah - Women's Resource Center, The Citizens Foundation, Lahore University of Management Sciences and I helped found the Democratic Students Alliance and Feminist Society at LUMS. I am a senior member of LUMS Community Service Society where I worked for SOS Children's Village and Roshni Village for Special People. I can mostly be found exploring the streets of the historic city of Lahore or volunteering for various community-run organizations and schools.
