Melissa Ko is the Managing Member of Covepoint Capital Advisors, LLC, and serves as the Chief Investment Officer of its flagship, the Covepoint Emerging Markets Macro Fund. Melissa Ko attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Shortly after, she obtained her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Before opening Covepoint Capital Advisors, LLC, Ko worked as Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Co., where she was inspired to begin her own hedge fund. At its peak, Covepoint Capital Advisors LLC managed more than $2.4 billion, indicating her knowledge and expertise of the industry. In 2013, Melissa Ko transitioned to a family office, after realizing her desire to take on longer-term investment views without the concern of increasingly overbearing regulatory requirements.
Melissa Ko works and lives in New York City, and has grown to love its pace, culture, food, and architecture. She has grown fond of the various cuisines that the city offers over her years as a resident. Melissa Ko has a passion for music, particularly in chamber and classical music. Her passion for music has led her to become a board member at the Metropolitan Opera, which she continues today. Melissa is also a member of the MIT Corporation Development Committee and also serves on the board at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.
