I appllied to NYU to become a jazz musician, but wound up graduating with degrees in neuroscience, computer science, and biochemistry. Then I got a PhD studying how brain activity relates to thought. I now use these mathematical models to craft better public policy and use electrical stimulation to cure diseases of the nervous system.
