Michael E. Roman is a passionate leader, educator, communicator and organizational strategist working in the Greater Cincinnati community. He is currently a Financial Analyst in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center managing NIH research grant submissions and state and foundation grant submissions.

Previously, he ran the core educational programs at the Gorman Heritage Farm Foundation that served thousands of students from the Greater Cincinnati area each year. He grew program revenue over 80%, increased those served by over 50%, all while maintaining a satisfaction rating of over 95%.

Understanding that financial support is essential to non-profit community-based organizations, he has honed his grant writing skills and received grant awards totaling over $128,500 from institutions as diverse as Google, General Mills, The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, and Social Venture Partners Cincinnati.

Michael was also a consultant for the national Farm-Based Education Association (FBEA) and developed and managed their social media strategies and online member community. He served on the FBEA's Communication's Committee and managed social media, website, and technology components of the bi-annual national FBEA conference.

Mike's passion for vibrant and healthy local communities led to his recognition as a nominee for the Merlin G. Pope Diversity Leadership Award. He was also selected for and participated in the Community Leaders Institute leadership development training through the University of Cincinnati's Center for Clinic and Translational Science and Training (CCTST). In 2011, Mike received the CCTST Summer Scholar Agency Partner Award in recognition of valuable leadership and mentorship of a CCTST Summer Scholar.

He holds a B.A. in Music from Xavier University and a M.S. in Organizational Leadership from The College of Mount St. Joseph (MSJ). He was recognized as one of the top three graduate students with his nomination for the MSJ Distinguished Student Award, the college's highest honor.

Michael resides in Cincinnati, OH, with his wife Laura and their three children. He enjoys reading voraciously across all disciplines,exploring the newest tech happenings, gardening, running, playing guitar, and traveling with his family.
