Small Business Owner, Volunteer, and Designer in Chico, California
Studied business at Southampton University and proceeded to work in a fast, upscale environment selling aircraft materials for small brokerage firm. Passionate about sailing, moved to South Africa in the early 90's to race performance sailing dinghy's, train for Olympic qualifying. Working as a sail-maker for Doyle Sails. With encouragement from friends and an invite from North Sails, moved to the USA in 1994 as a sail-maker for America's Cup boats.
Switching gears in 1998, returning to the aircraft industry working in sales for Tiernay Metals in Los Angeles, CA.
A growing family, moved to Chico in 2004 started my own company, Aerotech Alloys later sold to Reliance. Now founder and owner of Aircraft Extrusion Company, fast growing distributor or high strength aluminum profiles for aerospace, sport & medical industries.
2012 I took a year off work, take a chill pill. Worked as a volunteer in Chico for none-profits tackling homelessness in Chico.
"Understanding the problems and life stressors of local individuals experience through homelessness I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual." Working with the Torres Shelter. Enjoying the experience and the people listening to there stories, and helping out with laundry, guest serves etc. Working with like minded on the fund development and fundraising committees. providing marketing and sales experience, looking at new ways to raise the shelters profile, online presence and income revenue streams.
Recently, served on the board with North Valley Housing Trust. An active member of ChicoStart, helping to promote entrepreneurs and startup companies in the North State.
Married in 1996, two boys, two girls and supportive wife for over 22 yrs.
