Working for a Better Portland

I’ve spent my life building things that bring people together, whether it’s a cider company, a bus route, or a movement for a safer, more connected city.

In 2011, I started Reverend Nat’s Hard Ciderin my basement and grew it into a Portland institution, known as much for its community spirit as for what was in the glass. I created dozens of jobs, supported local causes, and showed how small business can shape a city for the better.

When I later drove for TriMet, I saw Portland from the driver’s seat: Neighbors, workers, students, and families relying on good public transit and safe streets. That experience grounded my belief that how we move defines how we live.

In 2023, I ran for Portland City Council to turn that belief into policy—fighting for climate action, fair housing, and streets that welcome everyone who walks, rolls, or rides.

Now I help mission-driven teams grow their impact, using the same mix of creativity, pragmatism, and community focus that’s guided me from cider tanks to city hall. My compass stays steady: build a Portland where every step feels safe, connected, and full of possibility.
