I'm a native New Orleanian who, after living away for 20+ years, returned home in mid-2012. In mid-2013, my beloved mom was diagnosed with Stage IV duodenal cancer and lost her battle shortly after suffering a stroke 8 months later. With reminders of her everywhere I looked, I almost reached a point of wanting to leave my hometown again, for good...but I'm still here, living on the outskirts of New Orleans with my better half/co-adventurer.

On a personal level, I'm truly blessed with a growing family and, also, a vast network of wonderful friends who have supported me through some rough times. Those who know me consider me to be strong, genuine, intuitive, compassionate, kind, down-to-Earth, young-at-heart, honest, imaginative and a survivor.

On a professional level, I'm a strong advocate for the empowerment of women in domestic abuse situations. I am a survivor of several forms of abuse and I fought for many years to escape/rebuild. I truly believe that my life's purpose is to share my experiences to help others in similar situations. Please check out my separate professional page ~ Café Sanctuary Outreach Program ~ for more information on how I help abused women.

I am always available to offer support to parents of teens who self-harm. We, as parents, need to open a dialogue to brainstorm solutions and help our teens cope with their daily stresses safely and effectively.

You're welcome to connect with me on any of the social media sites I've listed here. I'm always happy to meet new friends, offer support/offer advice, share experiences, brainstorm, collaborate on projects. I will always help anyone, if I have the ability to do so. If I can't help you, I'll try my best to find someone who can.
