--- In a nutshell ---
Writer, photographer, ecocentrist, veganarchist, activist, curious earthling. Explorer of social, political, environmental, and intersectional topics. [he/him]
Through photography as well as videography and writing, I seek to both critically explore and creatively communicate important stories, ideas, topics, issues, and current events related to people, animals, and the environment.
--- In a few sentences ---
I'm originally from Southern California but moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2011 and then to Flagstaff, Arizona in 2014. In between, I've served/traveled with AmeriCorps NCCC (and FEMA Corps) around the US for two years and also Southwest Conservation Corps in Tucson.
From 2014 to 2018 I was a full-time undergraduate student at Northern Arizona University (NAU) pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental & Sustainability Studies with minors in Sociology and Photojournalism.
Academic areas I have focused on include (but have not been limited to) political ecology, cultural politics, environmental ethics, environmental philosophy, environmental sociology, environmental justice, social and ecological sustainability, environmental communication, environmental photojournalism, ecofeminism, and nature-society relations.
In addition to being a student, I also worked for NAU e-Learning Center's Creative Design Group as a Video Production Assistant. Previously, I've worked for The Lumberjack student newspaper as a Staff Photographer, Photo Editor, Web Content Director, and Web Chief.
As of June 2018 I have taken an indefinite hiatus from higher education and will be living out of airbnbs and co-living spaces in (mostly) the bay area while focusing my energy on both personal goals and various freelance and creative work.
