R. Smith

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I am retired from the military (Navy) and two other careers. Now I am fully retired. I now reside in Virginia. My hobbies are art, photography, kayak fishing, bicycling and writing.

Photography works great with painting. I learn to capture that moment and put it on canvas. Again, this is a self taught experience.

I Enjoy fresh water fishing especially in a kayak. It is quiet, I can maneuver in very shallow water and get into places were most boats where can’t fit.

I am an avid bicyclist. When I tour on my bike, I will take my camera and sketch pad and ride the country roads. Stopping now and then to take a few pictures or just sketch.

Then I try to combine all my hobbies and write a little story of the experiences and stories from my hobbies.

My inspiration comes from the outdoors, When I am with nature, I am amazed at the various hues, tones and tints of the palette from the supreme master artist. My goal is to show the outdoors like it was, and like it is, before it will not be.
