Ricta Hip Hop

Getting his first taste of hip hop coming up as a DJ / Graffiti writer in the Stalingrad twinned Coventry City, UK. Ricta studied the local scene intently, his focus turned from DJ’ing to Rapping at around 16 years of age, since then he has been hard at work both on the live circuit and in the studio. Bringing an array of both self and guest-produced tracks Ricta is set to prove that boom bap beats are here to stay, combined with his distinctive voice and intelligent lyrics a winning formula is undeniably here, forget gangsterism’s and forced punch lines this is straight up, no gimmicks Hip Hop. Ricta also boasts an energetic live show and is often joined on stage by fellow label mate Idyllic, over recent years they have supported acts like... KRS-ONE, Akala, Kano, Ugly Duckling, Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Blackalicious, Wiley, Jaguar Skills, Rodney P & Skitz, Example & Many More. Be prepared for raw energy, crowd interaction and a well crafted, Hip Hop perfected performance. In April 2010 Ricta released his first single ‘Rock Caps’ which was extremely well received and was consequently licensed for use on a BBC Television Programme, as well as receiving radio air-play. Followed by the release of the Expocate EP this July which features US rapper Rebel UN and Czech producer Drepo plans are already in motion for the next project which will include further international collaborations, this is only the beginning yet already Ricta has carved his own niche right into the side of the UK music.
