I am a web developer and musician based in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Web development

Currently - I work for Kathmandu in their website development team as a backend developer. I work with Magento, AWS, integrations and like to contribute to open source products such as Magerun and anything that AOE produce.

Before that I worked for iTAG developing their real time booking system; iRES. Primarily working with PHP/CakePHP, MySQL, jQuery, Amazon AWS and doing some cool things along the way with PaymentExpress, OAuth 2.0, creating REST APIs, loving JSON and hating XML.

Musician

I moonlight as a guitarist. I perform in New Zealand gypsy jazz guitar duo La Petite Manouche. We play a mixture of Django Reinhardt-esque Parisian wartime gypsy jazz music (gypsy folk tunes meet WWII american jazz/swing), blues, classical stuff and modern club bangers.

We have been on and off the road in the past six years, touring New Zealand and visiting Australia occasionally, dreaming of visiting Europe while spending most of our time in a local residency. We have produced two full-length albums; Legacy and Odd Times, Odd Places which have both been well received and have been successful.

Festival appearances include the New Zealand International Jazz & Blues Festival, Nelson Jazz Festival, Kokomai Creative Festival, Jazz in Martinborough Festival, Waipara Folk Festival, Wellington Folk Festival, Whare Flat Folk Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival (AUS), OzManouche Festival (AUS).

We have performed and toured alongside amazing violinist Fiona Pears, including a month long tour of New Zealand thanks to Arts on Tour NZ.

When we aren't performing, touring or doing gypsy related things, we can be found running Big Dogs Music Limited - a music booking agency, specialising in making things easier for hospitality business by consolidating entertainment bills, managing booking and venue image.
