Robert Hannigan

Robert Hannigan is a leading authority on cyber security, cyber conflict and the application of technology in national security. He currently serves as Chairman of BlueVoyant International. Until 2017, Robert was Director of GCHQ, the UK’s largest intelligence and security agency and NSA equivalent. There he led the creation of the UK’s National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC) and oversaw the UK’s pioneering Active Cyber Defense Program.
During his 20-years of public service, Robert was Prime Minister’s Security Adviser and created the UK’s first cyber security strategy. Prior to that, he worked as principal adviser to Prime Minister Tony Blair on the Northern Ireland peace process. He was awarded the US Intelligence Distinguished Public Service Medal in 2017 and honored by Queen Elizabeth for services to UK national security in 2013.
