PhD Student in Seattle, Washington

I am a Seattle transplant by way of Salt Lake City. It was the allure of the city, combined with the mountains, and acceptance to the University of Washington’s Biomedical Informatics PhD program that brought me to the Pacific Northwest. I am loving each and every minute in my new locale.

My research interests pertain to mobile health applications, telehealth, clinical informatics, and consumer health informatics. Currently I am working with a team developing and implementing a mobile health application, called mPOWEr, which aims to facilitate patient-provider communication about the signs and symptoms of surgical site infections post-discharge. Outside of the world of academia I am an avid skier, hiker, backpacker, sea-kayaker, fly fisher, and rock climber. The formula is quite simple: being outside + good company = great times and adventures.
