Wisam (Sam) Daoud took on the Director of Product Management role at Amazon post the Souq acquisition. He’s currently leading the team responsible for integrating Souq into Amazon and driving overall product strategy for Amazon in the Middle East.

As part of Souq, the largest online marketplace and retailer in the Middle East and North Africa, Wisam took on several key leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Souq Group where he oversaw global operations of our marketplace, retail, and logistics businesses. Responsible for several thousand employees in Customer Support, Warehousing, Fulfillment, Logistics, Supply Chain, Content, and Product and Software Development.

Wisam also served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for over 7-years where he built the product, engineering, dev ops, and analytics, teams to over 300 people. He led transformational changes in the core marketplace business to deliver greater than 50x growth turning Souq into the first Billion Dollar Unicorn in the region.

Prior to joining Souq.com in 2010, Wisam worked in product management at eBay in California, where he led cross functional and Agile teams. He worked on key initiatives such as eBay's Managed Marketplace, Top Rated Seller program, user-generated content (UGC), site security, and payment and transaction management with PayPal.

Wisam also co-founded three Internet startups in Silicon Valley. A web Real Estate virtual tours company with a freemium business model, an online CRM software specifically targeted at Realtors, and a Middle East based web and multimedia development company serving international clients such as Lionbridge, Starbucks, Paltel, and the World Bank.

With over 20-years of Internet experience in the United States and Emerging Markets, Wisam has deep understanding of Internet business dynamics from an international perspective. Wisam holds three patents in his field and has a B.S. Degree in eBusiness from University of Phoenix, Arizona.
