Salena Durrell
Tradeswomen Advocate in Stockton, CA
Salena Durrell is a Boilermaker Apprentice who began her journey in 2024, working primarily in power plants, power houses and refineries. Her path into the Trade is shaped by a wide range of hands-on experience: pre-apprenticeship work, participation in a multi-craft construction program and roles with organizations that support Tradespeople.
Before focusing full-time on her apprenticeship Salena served as an MC3 Coordinator, Secretary for the Sacramento Apprenticeship Council, and worked for Tradeswomen Inc. and the San Joaquin Building Trades- roles that helped her build connections and support others entering the Trades.
Choosing to narrow her focus to being an apprentice is one of Salena's proudest accomplishments. She has also helped other women and men access and succeed in union trades mentoring and creating opportunities along the way.
Her background gives her a practical community-minded perspective: she knows the tools, the job sites, and the system that helped Tradespeople thrive.
Salena brings determination, a collaborative spirit and a commitment to lifting others as she grows in her craft. She continues to gain experience on complex industrial sites while supporting pathways for the next generation.
