I was born on the dawn of March the 12th, 1975, to a family of antique booksellers and art dealers that inspired me to pursue a college degree as an Art Expert. After graduating, I was admitted as a trainee at Centro Cultural de Belém and from there my career took several unexpected turns, both to journalism, advertising and living abroad, in Amsterdam and Athens, where I stayed for four years.
When landing back in Lisbon, in March of 2006, my passion for the city and its greatness was already embedded in my spirit. After years of longing, came the opportunity for the perfect back together, a chance to mingle with its people, appreciate its light and loose myself on the streets of Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods, by contributing to Convida city guides.
That was also the year when the blog that I had started back in 2006, Lisboa na Ponta dos Dedos -as a way of sharing experiences and reflecting on common issues that concern all of those who care for our beloved capital city- transcended to paper as a published: Descobrir, on Meia Hora newspaper; A Cidade na ponta dos Dedos, on Única magazine; Pelas ruas da Cidade, on the Portuguese edition of GQ magazine; Saída de Emergência, on the on-line version of Vogue, as well as other contributions to Diário Económico, Condé Nast Traveler, GQ Brasil and the Spanish edition of Vanity Fair.
Another old passion, criarte, the merchandising company I had created many years before to promote Portuguese literature and its writers by challenging everyone to chase their dreams, took new life in the hands of Arquivo, the same company that distributes the iconic Moleskins. To mark this new chapter, a special limited edition from Álvaro de Campos was released, with the quote: “I have in myself all the world’s dreams”.
Since 2012, and following on the pace of our society, my blog leaped to a new platform called Atlantic. A full website, where you can find new ways to approach cities, my own tips and suggestions on many of them and how to raise social and environmental awareness with a special focus on a project devoted to the elderly. Used as a launching pad, each traveler can choose his way of boarding on the adventure and rediscover each city as his own, spreading the country’s spirit around the world, the spirit of our great ancestors that will forever live in us.
