Shaheera is currently Founder/Writer/ Editor of Sustainable Diva and is studying for a Masters of Science degree in Sustainability at the Global Sustainability Institute, Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge United Kingdom.
An award-winning TV presenter in Canada, and former BBC broadcaster, Shaheera has presented and produced many programmes for BBC Africa, BBC World Service, BBC TV, BBC Radio 3 and was an executive producer for the Africa 05 season.
She recently produced and directed the first season of The Future Show with Gerd Leonhard, a groundbreaking new technology & innovation series.
Outside Broadcasting; Shaheera is a fashion designer, photographer and digital curator with guest curated works at the British Museum and V&A London.
As a University student in Canada where her family immigrated to from the UK in 1984, Shaheera started out as a PR intern for the United Nations Association Canada in BC, worked on the Earth Summit in Rio, Brazil in 1992, was interviewed on Radio and TV and never looked back.
Born in the UK, Shaheera is of Guyanese Arawak Indian and Ghanaian heritage. Her grandmother was Queen mother Oyemun of Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan District, in the Western Region of Ghana.
Her work, awards and African cultural events earned her an invitation to Buckingham Palace in 2007 on invitation by Her Majesty the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.
Shaheera enjoys yoga, running, music, photography, swimming and her family.
