Shirley Neal

Shirley Neal is a respected producer, writer, author and media & branding consultant based in Los Angeles, California. Through her company, Park Hill Entertainment (www.parkhillonline.com), and as an independent producer/writer, Neal has garnered a long list of production credits on a variety of U.S. cable networks including Arts & Entertainment (A&E), Discovery Travel, BET (Black Entertainment Television), TV Land, E! Entertainment, TVOne, Spike TV, The Africa Channel; and on broadcast networks: CBS, NBC, and FOX. Neal has also served as a producer on TV productions filmed in Sierra Leone, Uganda, Senegal, Rwanda, Kenya, Cameroon, DRC, South Africa, Gabon, Tanzania, and Ethiopia; and she has produced African focused marketing and commercial campaigns for Western Union, Ethiopia Airlines, and The Africa Travel Association (ATA).

In 2005, Neal helped to launch The Africa Channel - a 24/7 U.S. based entertainment cable network devoted to de-mystifying Africa and the African Diaspora. Neal served for seven years as the channel's Executive Vice President of Programming & Production before returning to re-launch her own company.

Neal's journalism credits include Ebony Magazine, Afrique Expansion, and Immigrant Magazine. She served as editor on the soon-to-be-released, "The Ex-Factor," and is currently authoring "Adventures in Hollywood: Lessons Learned, Advice to Share."
