Student, waitress, and Greek Dancer in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Hi everyone! My name is Simone Gavros. I am a detail-oriented University student in second year studying RTA: Media Production with a minor in French at Ryerson. With passions in both presenting and writing, my goal is to eventually work at CTV News as a news reporter. During the course of my academic career, I also managed to achieve nearly 4 years of work experience. I had the privilege of working for Alectra Utilities in a Metering Records Clerk role, where I learned valuable professional skills such as data entry using CC&B, customer service skills, and project planning. I also have had plenty of volunteer experience in the radio and television industry including volunteering at Rogers TV, where I had the opportunity to work on a production crew and even had segments on TV shows, as well as volunteering at TIFF.
In my spare time, I serve at a local gastro pub in Aurora, teach traditional dance at the Hellenic Academy of York as well as perform with the Greek Community of Toronto, bake, and read. In both my academic and professional life, I have been consistently praised as adaptable by my professors, employers, and peers. Whether working on academic, extracurricular, or professional projects, I apply proven communication, planning, and teamwork skills, which I hope to leverage in my future career in the media field.
