I am currently the Research and Scholarship Initiatives Manager at the Center of Digital Research and Scholarship, Columbia University. In this role as program manager, I develop, and promote the scholarly communication life cycle, tools, and services that support the research mission of Columbia University.
I also conducts research in the area of open research and scholarship, digital preservation, and data curation, with an emphasis on the practical implications of their conceptual and modeling foundations.
Prior to moving to the USA, I worked for eight years at Systems Librarian and Digital Repository Manager at the University of Bologna, Italy, implementing and managing their institutional repositories for the university research outputs, ETDs, and learning objects. I obtained a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, a MS in LIS from the University of Parma, Italy, and a postgraduate specialization in Free and Open Source Software project management from the University of Bologna, Italy.
