Slade Birkenfeld

Lubbock, TX

Slade is currently in his second year of college (Classified Junior) at Texas Tech University. His passion for success is what drives him. Adding two of his favorite things Technology and Culture seamed to be the most logical route. Therefor, he is currently perusing the two degrees of Bachelors of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and International Business with a minor in German.

Throughout Slade’s formative years he learned the value of hard work, discipline, and dedication. Growing up with a dad that came from a small town and a family that farmed to survive. That man taught him what it takes to make it in the world and to raise a family in time of poverty and fortune. Slade worked with his dad to start S&B Properties, a family owned real estate rental business.

In high school Slade Birkenfeld received many honors: Co-Captain of the Debate Team, UIL State Accountant, Varsity Baseball player, National Honor Society President, Class President, and National Forensics League Special Distinction Award. Graduated from Snyder High School class of 2012

During the summer of 2013 Slade Birkenfeld spent his first summer as a college student on an internship in Frisco, TX with Highland Homes. There he learned what it took to manage large construction projects using verbal and written communication. One key aspect of the home building process is Time Management. During the 14-week internship Slade completed all 10 stages of the home building process as well as over 55 warranty tickets.

At the beginning of Slade’s freshman year he made it a priority to study abroad. Knowing that Germany was and still is in high demand of Information Technology personnel, he looked for a program that could take him where he wanted to go. All is in place and on course for him to study abroad during the Fall 2014 semester in Reutlingen, Germany for a 5-month (August-December) program.

Slade Birkenfeld is currently the Webmaster for the Business Professional Fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, apart of the Fundraising/Social committee of Association of Information Technology Professionals, and in the Rawls Business Leadership Program at Texas Tech University.
