Scott Gipson is a native Idahoan, born in Moscow and raised in Caldwell. He attended the University of Idaho obtaining his B.S in Political Science in 1990 and Juris Doctor in 1993. Scott began work with Caxton Printers Ltd. In 1993. For the next 6 years he served as the director of Caxton's Textbook division and was named Vice President/Publisher in 1999. Scott was named President of the company on January 1st of 2011.

Scott has served on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Idaho, two terms as the president of the board of the The Cabin Literary Center in Boise, and two terms on the national board of the University of Idaho Vandal Scholarship Fund. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce and as the Chair of the board of managers of the Whittenberger Foundation. Scott is active in education issues throughout the region and is a current member of Idaho Business for Education (IBE), and is a member of the core leadership team for the Treasure Valley Educational Partnership (TVEP).

In July of 2011 Scott was named to serve on the Board of Trustees of the College of Idaho where he currently serves as the chairman of the Committee on Trustees.

He and his wife Dawn Duncan Gipson have two children, Zachary (16) and Samantha (13).

Scott loves books, fishing, books, skiing, golf and books.
