Stephen Jemal

Visionary Real Estate Developer | Founder of JemRock Organization | Creator of PASHA | Nobody Beats The Wiz

Stephen Jemal is a celebrated New York-based entrepreneur, real estate developer, and the mastermind behind the revolutionary PASHA project—an innovative housing initiative designed to bring luxury living within reach of working-class New Yorkers.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Stephen’s journey to success began at the age of ten, working alongside his father in Spanish Harlem. By sixteen, he was running multiple electronics stores. In 1976, he launched the iconic “Nobody Beats The Wiz,” a retail empire that grew to 110 stores across six states, generating over $2.2 billion in annual revenues. This landmark success established Stephen as a force in American business.

Transitioning from retail to real estate, Stephen founded SSJ Development and later launched “The Riviera,” his signature waterfront brand. He spearheaded major urban revitalization projects throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, New Jersey, and the Bronx, becoming a pioneer in waterfront development.

In recent years, Stephen has turned his focus to addressing New York’s housing crisis. Alongside his four sons, he co-founded the JemRock Organization, culminating in the creation of PASHA—a first-of-its-kind real estate venture offering affordably priced luxury rental apartments. Designed with community wellness and work-life balance in mind, PASHA buildings include co-working spaces, fitness studios, rooftop lounges, and wellness-focused dining—delivering a lifestyle once reserved for the ultra-wealthy to everyday professionals.

A true innovator and philanthropist, Stephen Jemal is committed to reshaping urban living and empowering communities through accessible luxury, economic opportunity, and visionary leadership.

Motto: Live. Visit. Work. Be Well.
