Tess Carichner
Student and researcher in Ann Arbor, MI
Hello! I am a student at the University of Michigan School of Nursing, minoring in global health and disability studies. Upon graduating in Spring 2025 with my BSN and certificates in disability inclusion/accessible design and leadership, I hope to pursue a PhD in Nursing.
As a researcher with Digital Accessible Futures Lab, Docs with Disabilities Access in Nursing group, and my school's honors program, I focus on topics related to accessibility, health equity, disability design, disability and Deaf arts/culture, as well as safety promotion for neurodivergent gender minorities. Click the link above to learn more about the Accessing Disability Culture digital anthology I edited and organized with Digital Accessible Futures Lab. I am passionate about sharing my research and experience through conferences and guest lectures.
In my free time, I love to rock climb, read, cook with my co-op housemates, and organize mutual aid art market fundraisers in my community.
