Tim West is Founding Partner of WILD Equities, a patient-capital platform preserving and protecting America’s farms, mills, and fisheries by empowering their Stewards through permanent capital partnership. He leads origination and partnerships, identifying the food businesses worth preserving and building the alliances, from family farms to family offices, that will safeguard them for generations. He also serves as a Senior Commercialization Advisor in DARPA’s Commercial Strategy Office, carrying frontier technologies out of the lab and into private-sector partnerships, a discipline of judging what is real, what is durable, and who can be trusted to build it.

Tim came to investing through the kitchen. A 2005 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, he has spent more than two decades working on the supply chain behind the plate: launching Cafe 6 at Facebook as part of the founding team, co-founding the Food Hackathon + Forum that gave rise to the Future Food Institute, where he serves as Global Ambassador, and advising some of the world’s largest food companies, dozens of innovative food startups, Deloitte’s Center for the Edge, and venture philanthropy funds through True West Ventures. That work built a rare network across the U.S. food supply chain and the trust of the operators within it.

Tim is the grandson of Arch West, the inventor of Doritos. Having grown up inside the legacy of the processed-food era, he came to see its cost, and that reckoning became the source of his life’s work: a food system that is good, clean, fair, affordable, nutrient-dense, and regenerative. He is based in Bellingham, Washington, in the heart of the Cascadia bioregion.
