I was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Long Beach, CA. As a producer, I’ve worked with directors such as Chiara Clemente, Catherine Gund, Laura Dawn, Albert Maysles, Mickalene Thomas, and Jed Weintrob; my films have played on HBO, PBS, IFC, and the Sundance Channel. I’m the author of The Big Lie, and my writing has been in Vogue, CNN News, Bust, Art Basel Magazine, the Journal of Law and Politics, xoJane, Women’s eNews, and many other publications. As an actor, I’ve been in shows by The Wooster Group, The Builders Association, Sibyl Kempson, Mike Iveson Jr., Brooke O'Harra, and Andrew Ondrejcak; and in films and installations by Carrie Mae Weems, Pedro Reyes, Sharon Hayes, Andrea Geyer, Thomas Dozol, David Michalek, and Jennifer Reeves, among others. As an activist, I’ve worked with the Ms. Foundation, Third Wave Fund, World Health Organization, The DO School, Groundswell Community Mural Project, and the NGO Forum on Women. I’m also the Communications and Special Projects Officer for the Rubell Family Collection.
