Tuck Ngun

Hi! I'm a postdoctoral scholar at UCLA in the Department of Human Genetics. I currently work with Dr Eric Vilain on the biological basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

I'm a recent Ph.D. - I received mine in December 2012. My dissertation was on the molecular mechanisms underlying sexual differentiation of the brain. I looked at the dynamics of DNA methylation in response to early life testosterone exposure in female mice and the effect of sex chromosome number/complement in a mouse model of Klinefelter Syndrome.

Over the course of my dissertation work, I gained expertise in not only molecular biology and genetic techniques but also the analysis and interpretation of large datasets.
