Zena Weist is an integrated media strategist with over 20 years of B2C and B2B leadership in business planning, change management and marketing on the brand, interactive agency and vendor sides. Zena has provided brand management and digital strategic counsel across a portfolio of Fortune 500 companies. In 2011, Zena was named one of the 25 Women Who Rock Social Media from TopRank.
In December 2014, Zena accepted her dream role as director of marketing at Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas. Prior to Catholic Charities, she was the Strategy Director at Kansas City-based Level Five, an interactive customer experience design and development consulting firm.
In April 2012, Zena was recruited away from Edelman where she was the Vice President of Strategy with Edelman Digital Chicago by Expion. She joined the social software SaaS as Vice President of Strategy. She led the start-up's public relations and market awareness initiatives, industry analyst management, event management, social media programs, content marketing strategy and influencer outreach.
At Edelman, Zena led integrated media teams partnering with large consumer brands including ConAgra, Disney, Humana, Kimberly Clark, and Kraft. Prior to Edelman, Zena was the Director of Social Media for H&R Block where she led a team who received national acclaim for integrated online marketing communication programs. Her digital strategy work has been featured in seven business books and highlighted in the Harvard Business Review.
In addition to Edelman and H&R Block, Zena led digital teams at Sprint, Hallmark and Embarq, providing leadership in online brand engagement, digital strategy, integrated marketing communications and project management.
She is a founding member of the Kansas City Social Media Club. When her fingers aren't busy on the keyboard she is playing with her four active children and one adorable husband or sneaking in a run.
