I am a Shanghai-based journalist working for Mergermarket, a subscription-based, London-headquartered news service. Previously, I interned at The Charlotte Observer, The Wall Street Journal, and Reuters News Agency in the US and China. I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with honors and distinction in 2017. During college, my story on the 2015 Chinese stock market tumble helped me win the Standard&Poor Business and Economics Reporting Award from the Overseas Press Club Foundation. I was also very fortunate to witness Tar Heels win the splendid NCAA National Championship in 2017.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading Chekhov and Tolstoy as well as doing translation work for science education organizations, such as and Nature. It is needless to say that I am a huge fan of Carolina basketball. In the sunshine-filled mornings, I especially enjoy watching the games at a random bar in Shanghai's French Concession. Go Tar Heels!
