As a teacher of English language arts at the Roosevelt School in Redwood City, California, Adam Wies creates differentiated lessons for a diverse range of learners. He uses targeted formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning, while also offering after-hours instructional programs for students struggling with reading. The developer of an instructional unit designed to supplement standards-based instruction for the classic novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Adam Wies also oversees extracurricular activities including volleyball, basketball, and the SPARK After School Physical Activity Program.

Adam Wies accepted his current role following service as a teacher in the Sequoia High School summer program, where he provided targeted instruction in vocabulary, reading, and writing skills. Also the host of writing workshops that included individual skills coaching, he further supported students with after-school office hours.

Wies also has served as a teacher in Leadership Public Schools of San Jose and at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton School in Palo Alto, as well as at Palo Alto Preparatory School in Mountain View. He holds a teaching credential in English and a master of arts in English from Notre Dame de Namur University.
