Alfred Pobi

Alfred Pobi is a motivated leader with vast experience in the fields of financial services, travel and entertainment. He has a strong track record in both developing greenfield patches and growing revenue within existing relationships.

Since March 2022 Alfred has worked for the Google Cloud platform, helping financial firms to leverage cloud technology. This platform is the fastest-growing company within the Alphabet group. In this role, Alfred is responsible for leading Google Cloud’s greenfield Enterprise Financial Services sector and increasing the number of new logos for capital markets in UKI by 50% in 10 months. He also manages the entire sales cycle, helping clients to undertake their agile cloud transformation projects and migrations from legacy applications.

Alfred has worked in tech sales for over 15 years with many global companies including Citibank, Credit Agricole, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale, HSBC and JP Morgan.

In his work on behalf of the charity Children Change Colombia, Alfred has provided the organisation with some insight regarding how they can screen individuals and companies (at a basic level) in response to increasing AML regulations. The charity currently receives donations from various sources around the UK and will soon be actively seeking funds from individuals and corporations in Colombia.

To relax, Alfred likes to read – he’s a particular fan of self-help books – visit the gym and play basketball and football. He’s an avid cook and especially enjoys preparing dishes from West Africa, Europe and Britain. Alfred is a member of the Black Googler Network, Gooners at Google and the Arsenal Supporters Club.
