Alix Pasquet

Alix Pasquet

Alix Pasquet was a Haitian political revolutionary and fighter pilot. During World War II he was one of the first three African-American aviators in United States Armed Forces history. The three, part of a group collectively known as the "Tuskegee Airmen" were renown for their unmatched record in air combat in over 200 missions.

Pasquet would later lead the first attempt to overthrow the Haitian dictator Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier and restore peace and stability in his native Haiti.

As a result of his efforts in restoring peace in Haiti and his services to the United States during World War II, he was honored in a posthumous ceremony at the White House, his son Alix Pasquet Jr. accepting the award.
