Alyssa Thomas

Philadelphia

In a world of endless problems, it's difficult to stay focused and do the right thing. It's so easy to join in, and continue to engage in behavior that is harmful to oneself, others, and our planet. Yet, doing the right thing is an everyday part of my life.

In my personal life, I volunteer at an animal shelter in Philadelphia, I'm a mentor with the Spark program, I'm an advocate for women's rights and the feminist movement, I perform random acts of kindness for others, and I'm a serious current events junkie - always learning about on-going crises in the world and in our own country.

In my professional life, my morals and beliefs are no different. I work for the City of Philadelphia ensuring that access to capital is not only reserved for those who already have plentiful opportunities, but is also available for those who are marginalized by traditional financial systems.
