Alyssa Kotomi Luhrs plans to enter nursing school upon graduation from Collin Community College in Frisco, Texas. Working for an associate of science degree with an emphasis in anatomy and microbiology, Alyssa Kotomi Luhrs funds her studies by working as a server at the Kotta Sushi restaurant in Frisco.

Luhrs earned her diploma in 2015 from Centennial High School in Frisco, Texas. She demonstrated an interest in a career as a hospital nurse practitioner by attending preparatory camps for two summers. Supplementing her medical learning, she is certified in first aid, adult and pediatric CPR, and automated external defibrillation. Her skills also include usage of an EKG machine.

Additionally, Luhrs studied beginning French and intermediate Japanese. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), she also performed well in business communication and public speaking seminars.

She was an active athlete at Centennial, competing on the track and volleyball teams. In addition, she appeared on the cover of a special edition of Lonestar Volleyball Club magazine as a most valuable player.
