My fascination with birds began as a child and 50 years down the track my love for our feathered friends has not diminished. Our home "Tranquillity" is where my passion for birds, all nature, people and wildlife became a digital reality through the lens of my camera.

I am sometimes asked technical questions WHAT... Aperture did you use, Focal length, Exposure.. or DID YOU USE... The rule of thirds, Depth of field, shutter priority...
I am not a technical person... simply.... it is not about equipment or the camera, or the programs and attachments available today... it's about the photographer... A camera cannot create a great or unique image, no different to a guitar strumming a beautiful melody... There is always a person behind the equipment...

Always be prepared to find the extraordinary in the ordinary...

Explore unguarded moments, look for a soul peeking out and aim for that opening... a door unlatched into the past, freeze the wisdom you see etched on a persons face... your materials are simply light, patience and time.

Become fully aware of the moment, be one with your surroundings, capture emotion and feeling in a single frame.. Be still until the subject of your attention confirms your presence. The most powerful equipment you have are your eyes...
