Environmental STEM Educator, Ocean-based Renewable Energy Policy, and Minister of the Gospel in Washington, DC

Hi! I'm Angel! A wife, mom, wind energy expert, entrepreneur, budding creative and minister of the Gospel.

I am a meteorologist by training and started my professional career with the National Weather Service supporting the Famine Early Warning System Network (FEWS Net) Project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. I provided weather and climate monitoring and analysis for the purposes of food security and famine early warning for developing countries in Central America, the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. While working on the FEWS Net Project I traveled to the aforementioned regions conducting trainings and participating in workshops, most notably, Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Abuja, Nigeria; and Georgetown, Guyana. From there I transitioned to the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management in the Office of Renewable Energy Programs where I played several key roles in the development of the nation's ocean-based renewable resources. During my 12 years I was recognized as a leader and key contributor to the department's mission. I am now a Senior Offshore Wind Regulatory Specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (www.nrel.gov) where I lead teams of researchers to advance the development of ocean-based wind energy and inform federal decision-makers. When I am not wife-ing, momming, working or ministering (not always in that order either) I am inspiring the next generation of scientists and STEM professionals with my Discover Earth Camp (www.discoverearthcamp.com) initiative.

Long before the call to ministry, I always sought an understanding of faith. From an early age I not only asked the tough questions, but then went on a deep dive to seek understanding and truth. At the 7th Day Pentecostal Church (www.facebook.com/7DPCmd), I serve as a Teacher, Women's Ministry Leader, on the social media team and am busy wherever else there is a need. I am anointed in exhortation, intercession and the ministry of deliverance, but am always obedient to the will of the Father. I believe I have been called to demonstrate a faith-led lifestyle to others; and to show the unbeliever who they truly are through Jesus Christ.

I value time with my family, enjoy discovering new places and cultures, and unwind outdoors through camping and sailing. I am always looking to expand my network so feel free to say hello!
