Anisha Ismail Patel is dedicated to cultivating global citizenship and makes an impact in the fields of education; and nurturing youth & women in leadership & service. She aspires to implement change on the global, national and local landscapes. In 2016, President Obama invited her to a White House reception along with other national leaders.

As Founder of InnovusED LLC, an education consulting firm, she is on a mission to nurture global citizens with 21st century skills. InnovusED has contributed their expertise to world-wide initiatives with Free the Children/We Schools, Unity Productions Foundation, The Chicago Public Education Fund, the Golden Apple Foundation and Newseum among other organizations. She has over 23 years of education experience as a school teacher, instructional leader, administrator, professor and consultant. A fellow of the Harvard Global Education Think Tank, Anisha began her journey attending international schools in Malawi, Africa. She moved to the US to further her education. Honored as the Valedictorian of her graduating college class, she was awarded academic merit scholarships to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters in Educational Administration and Leadership.

Anisha is also passionate about civic engagement & service learning, especially mobilizing women and youth as leaders. She has launched two philanthropic and personal development nonprofit organizations, one in her birth city in Lilongwe and one in Chicago. Elected as a Community Ambassador by One Chicago, One Nation she has worked on fulfilling the mission of bringing Chicagoans of diverse backgrounds together. Her efforts implementing the Women Ambassadors of Unity program was awarded a grant from the Chicago Community Trust. She serves on the Illinois Global Scholar policy initiative, the Illinois Department of Human Rights Education Inclusion Committee, and the Global Education Conference among other leadership efforts. She is a speaker, writer and education social entrepreneur. Her writing is published in the Daily Herald, Education Post and the Huffington Post.
