I want to tell you about one aspect of my life that is significant to me, which are video games. Video games have always been a thing for me since I was little, and I always have loved to play videogames in my free time. Back in the days, I would always watch my older brother play games on the computer; however, I was little, so I knew nothing about it. But throughout time, the access to video games came naturally as my brother always offered me to play with him.
Back then, I was still living in Korea, so the games we played were things American kids wouldn't know about. However, once the game "League of Legends" became popularized among all nations, my brother and I always spent our time enjoying that game. I wasn't so good at it, but I always knew I had a little talent towards videogames when my friends admired my skills.
My passion for video game grew by time, and my potential finally shined when the game called "Valorant" came out in 2020. Personally, I did not like that game at first when it came out. However, after an overwhelming peer pressure from my friends, I decided to play with them consistently. Ever since, I became hooked onto Valorant and turned the hate of the game into a love for it. As I kept playing it, I knew I was getting better at the game. At one point, I reached my peak of rank 600 among all the players in the United States. I was actually considering to just go professional and start full time live streaming online, but I was scared to walk through that journey of obscureness. Therefore, I decided to put more focus on the education than the video game.
I still take the game competitively, but obviously not as much anymore. However, in one side of me, I always wonder what I could've achieved if I just kept pursuing the "dream" of becoming a full time gamer.
