Archie Parnell

Archie Parnell began his career in 1974 as a trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice Tax Division and subsequently joined the House Ways and Means Committee as senior staff counsel. Archie Parnell worked in this capacity from 1976 to 1980, with the exception of a three-month leave of absence, during which he was a Fund for Public Policy Research Fellow at Harvard Law School.
From 1980 to 1990, Archie Parnell worked in varying capacities for ExxonMobil [please note that Exxon merged with Mobil in 1998 after I left], beginning as a tax attorney in the United States and progressing to positions in Hong Kong and Belgium. He served as senior tax associate and partner with Coudert Brothers in its Asia-based tax practice from 1990 to 1996, after which he held various executive roles in Asia with Goldman Sachs over the course of a 20-year period.
Archie Parnell maintains membership with the United States Supreme Court Bar and South Carolina Bar. He engages in public policy as a commentator on matters regarding taxation in the United States and Asia.
