Arif Efendi
business leader, Philanthropist, and Investor
Arif Efendi was raised in the US and is now based in the UK. Earlier in his life he had designs on becoming a US Army general, but he ultimately went down the business route instead. He prides himself on turning his passions into businesses enterprises and has wide-ranging experience in investing, commodities trading and banking.
Mr Efendi began his career in the financial services and banking sectors in August 2010 at Standard Bank as part of the bank’s graduate programme. In this role he worked on the African Equities desk within the Global Markets team, spending almost a year with this leading Africa-focused emerging markets investment bank.
From 2011 to 2016, Arif Efendi held a principal position at a global commodities trading and investment business that held financial interests in mining. In this role, he focused on the oversight of an international trading book.
As a consultant for ADCO Advisory Company Limited from 2016 to 2018, Mr Efendi assisted in providing UK-based companies with strategic counsel and funding solutions regarding financial services investments and commercial litigation.
Today, Mr Efendi works at a single-family, London-based office, a position he has held since 2018. In this capacity, he oversees private investments in the UK and Europe across a range of sectors including FMCG, hospitality and leisure, sports and technology, and he also heads the business’s asset management arm.
Mr Efendi holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration – military and strategic leadership (BBA) from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont.
