Following her graduation, in 2004, she received a scholarship to the Broadway Dance Center and packed her bags for New York City where she spent the next two years learning from and performing for Wes Veldink and Michele Assaf, among others. Weeks after returning to San Diego in 2006, Arwen was involved in a serious car accident, she suffered severe blunt force trauma to her face and had to have her left eye surgically removed and replaced with a prosthetic. After spending nearly a month in the hospital and a summer recovering at her parents home, she returned to work and created the dance program at the Encinitas Country Day School . Over the next four years, she would undergo surgery nine times while building her new dance program from six students to over two-hundred. In 2008, she was invited to teach a choreography workshop for the conservatory students at Canyon Crest Academy and has since guest choreographed for the dance programs at Eastlake High School and Coronado School for the Performing Arts. After her quick success as a young choreographer, she returned to The Academy of Performing Arts, where she trained in her youth, as a faculty member teaching several classes per week and aiding in the development and progression of scholarship students. The Arwen Daniels Dancers, her competition team, began competing in and winning regional and national events in 2011. She was the choreographer for Rising Stars Junior Theater, San Diego's premiere youth musical-theater ensemble where her credits include Seussical the Musical, School House Rock and The Music Man.
