Barnita Biswas

I'm a digital native- writer, editor, web watcher, gamer, and visual media buff who enjoys photography. This has translated into a career in digital marketing. It all started with journalism and rapidly spiraled into SEO, PPC, content marketing, and next thing you know I was revamping, rebranding and redesigning WP and HubSpot sites while managing entire marketing teams.

I hold a degree in Mass Media (Journalism) from Mumbai University. Over a decade ago, I began my writing career at a photo magazine while I dabbled in theater and production. I produced plays and ad films as a student intern. Life was good - a creative and fulfilling expression, albeit a trifle poverty stricken.

Post-graduation, I worked as an Editor at a KPO before turning towards freelancing. For seven years I worked as a freelancer, and created content to help brands build online communities to find their audience online.

In March 2014, I joined a promising start-up called ecoInsight as a Sr. Tech Writer, less than a year later, I was promoted to Director, Digital Marketing.

In December 2015, I moved to a fully integrated Digital Marketing Agency called Position2 as a dedicated PPC Project Manager. The role included rolling out Operational & Process upgrades for the team to improve resource and time utilization, managing the PPC team's data & visualization project. I then moved to the SEO team.

After P2, I joined a SaaS company called Netenrich that had just merged with a cybersec company called Threat Landscape as a Senior Marketing Manager. I am currently the Marketing Director here, as we GTM with a robust secure ops platform.

Other Little Details About Me: I am a dog lover, an avid traveler, a mythology + history buff and a nature lover. I actively seek out folklore and legends everywhere I go. I use and promote open source tech, and am an avid Linux user and even blog about it. I like building my own CPUs and dabbling in home automation (remnants of ecoInsight).

To those in my inner circle, I'm an exquisite cook who dabbles in organic gardening, composting and writes about it, as I write about everything that touches me.

My Background: I was born in Mumbai but raised a nomad. I grew up on the Mediterranean shores of the Libyan desert and studied in a Himalayan boarding school before being flung back into the chaos that is Mumbai. I now live and work from the traffic clogged suburbs of Bangalore, since 2007.
