Bess Childs
Vice President of Marketing in Los Angeles, California
I build brand-to-revenue marketing engines: brand, demand, product marketing and the technology underneath, running as one system instead of four. Twenty years in B2B SaaS and MarTech, most of it spent going in first, into companies being built from zero or fixed after they broke.
I start under the hood. Before I touch brand or demand, I check whether sales and marketing are working from the same numbers. At Tagger, that meant rebuilding attribution from scratch: Salesforce had credited marketing with $210K in closed-won revenue, and the verified figure was $5.4M. Same deals, different visibility, once the measurement was fixed. Earlier in my career, at Acxiom, a rebuilt targeting approach on a Travel campaign returned 105:1 on a $254K budget.
I'm a full-stack marketer. I've run brand, demand, product marketing and marketing operations for teams as lean as three people on $1.2M in program spend, and I can usually tell within two weeks whether a problem is strategy or plumbing, because I've worked the plumbing.
I spent the last two and a half years going deep on AI, deliberately. I finished a program at Vanderbilt in July and built revenuesignalaudit.com, sixteen questions that diagnose the operational layer under a marketing function, during an AI Circles cohort this summer.
I'm looking for a VP Marketing role where I own the whole function, somewhere building rather than maintaining.
