Dennis Leonard has been described by his peers & the greater secular & spiritual community as a true leader & example to follow in the ministry of reconciliation between cultures & denominations.

His ministry is driven by the desire to assist people in their efforts to become & achieve their personal best, no matter their age, socio, economic or cultural background. He sees potential in everyone & believes nothing can hold someone back from achieving anything.

Leonard began fulfilling his call to ministry in 1985 when he founded Heritage Christian Center in the basement of his home as “simply a Bible study”. By 1995, Church Growth Today named Heritage Christian Center, “one of America’s fastest growing churches.” In its 25 years under the leadership of Bishop Leonard, Heritage was a fast-paced, multicultural, nondenominational church with 50-plus outreach ministries.

Bishop Leonard speaks across the US, teaching pastors how to build multi-cultural congregations. Presidents & national statesmen seek Pastor Leonard’s counsel in the area of racial reconciliation. He has recurrently been invited to the White House & was asked to participate on committees for both Presidents Bush and Clinton.

The vision of Heritage did not stop within the walls of the church. During the 25 years under his leadership, Heritage was responsible for:

• Construction of Christian schools in Mexico;
• Sent missionaries into Mexico, Ivory Coast, China, Russia, Poland, Germany, Israel, Italy, Hungary, Canada, South America, Africa, Japan, India
• Construction of 17 of churches in India
• Installation of 26 satellite dishes in Colorado prisons to air Christian television
• Sending ministry volunteers weekly into prisons
• Distributing groceries, clothing & other non-perishables to families in need, giving away 45,000+ pounds of food

After 25 years as Senior Pastor of Heritage Christian Center in Denver, Dennis Leonard embarked on the next season of his ministry. Working with Bishop TD Jakes and The Potter’s House in Dallas, Chris Hill assumed leadership of the Denver campus & the church became Potters House Church of Denver.

In 2011, Pastor Leonard launched Heritage Christian Center San Diego ...another fast growing, multi-cultural ministry aimed to touch a hurting world with the love of Jesus Christ.
