Brett Shaves

Brett Shaves studied political science and history at the University of California, Los Angeles. Early in his career, he served as a real estate manager at the oil and energy conglomerate, Chevron, for five years. During this time, Brett Shaves facilitated the divestiture of a property portfolio with a combined value that exceeded $400 million.
Mr. Shaves subsequently went into the real estate business for himself, founding Pacific Coast Development in 2000. For over 10 years, he led a series of West Coast and Hawaii property development projects with a primary focus on condominium and single-family home subdivisions. From 2009 to 2019, he owned and operated the general construction contractor, Emerald Pacific Corporation. After the success of Pacific Coast Development, Brett Shaves founded a mixed-use, urban infill developer, Urban Village.
Concurrent to his role as president of Pacific Coast Development, Emerald Pacific Corporation, and Urban Village, he has also overseen the operations at Newport Commercial. At the Irvine, California company, he focuses on commercial and industrial developments and has raised debt and equity for financing building projects.
