Brian Boxer Wachler

Over the past fifteen years, ophthalmologist Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler has enjoyed an outstanding level of success treating residents of Los Angeles. Currently, he serves as Director of the Boxer Wachler Vision Institute in Beverly Hills. He is also on staff at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Before assuming his current roles, Dr. Boxer Wachler spent four years working with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Department of Ophthalmology, where he served as the Director of Refractive Surgery and the school’s Laser Refractive Center, as well as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology.

Before launching his career, Dr. Boxer Wachler received his Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from UCLA. An honors student, he was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma and earned placement on the dean’s list. He then spent a year studying at Edinburgh University in Scotland on a Rotary Foundation International Scholarship. Upon his return to the United States, Dr. Boxer Wachler attended Dartmouth Medical School, where he earned his medical degree. He undertook his internship in internal medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco. This was followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the Saint Louis University Eye Institute. He subsequently accepted a position as Director of the Refractive Surgery Clinic at the University of Kansas Medical Center and completed a fellowship in refractive surgery and cornea at the Hunkeler Eye Center at the University of Kansas.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler has received numerous honors. In 2004, he was voted one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumers Research Council of America and earned the honor from 2006 to 2008, as well. He earned acknowledgement as one of the Best Doctors in America in 2005. In 2010, he earned the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Senior Achievement Award.
