Studied English & Philosophy at university, but got my real education as a construction worker, bartender and long-distance driver -- and almost a horse ranch manager and blackjack dealer.

Spent 15 years as an advertising copywriter in Ireland, the U.K and the U.S.

Originated the 'Nothing Added But Time' platform for Bulmers Cider, initiating the most successful brand relaunch in Irish marketing history. Later I wrote and directed radio commercials (my preferred ad medium) on both coasts of the U.S.

I now write screenplays full-time.

In addition to Nashville, my scripts have won the Atlantis Award (best screenplay by an overseas writer) at the Moondance Film Festival, New York, 2012; the Acclaim Scripts Fall/Winter Contest, 2014 and a Top 5 in the U.K.'s Screenwriting Goldmine Competition, among others.

I hold both E.U. and U.S. citizenships.
