A prominent figure in the Chicago comedy and theater scene, Brian Posen is a Boulder, Colorado resident who has been responsible for establishing a variety of sketch comedy programming in the Windy City over the course of his 25-year career. In 2001, Brian Posen founded the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival and served 16 years as executive producer of the rapidly-growing festival.

During seven years as artistic director of Stage 773, he oversaw production of the Chicago Nerd Festival and Women's Funny Festival as well as the Scribble Bible, Smush, and Gay Fest. He also stepped outside of comedy to direct several drama and musical productions. Moreover, he served 18 years as director of The Cupid Players, which produced the city's longest-running comedy show, Cupid Has a Heart On.

Beyond leading comedy productions, Mr. Posen worked as an instructor and program head with Second City from 1993 to 2018. He also held instructor roles with Columbia College and Act One Acting Studio. He holds a master’s degree in acting from the University of Illinois, where he also earned the Charles Luckman Award for excellence in teaching.
